AFRICAN PEACE AND SECURITY UNION (APSU)

  African Peace and Security Union (APSU) works towards the Meaningful Youth participation in Conflict Prevention, Management and Resolution (CPMR), Training and advocacy activities. APSU also works towards Youth education, skills development, Rights, Governance and Youth Empowerment. 

African Peace and Security Union (APSU) works towards promoting Youth engagement in Continental share values agenda, and enhancing the capacity of Youth and youth-led or youth-focused organizations/Networks to Meaningful participation in Democratic process at all levels as well. 

African Peace and Security Union (APSU) advocates and promotes active and Meaningful participation of Youths in decision-making processes, policy formulation, implementation and monitoring of Governance and Peace agreements.

APSU promotes policies, legislations and programs aimed at effective de-radicalization, demobilization, rehabilitation and Reintegration of Youth disengaged from armed, criminal or extremist groups in tandem with national legislation.

African Peace and Security Union works towards the fight against illicit proliferation of small arms and light weapons (SALW), Child and Youth Soldiers, drug trafficking and violent extremisms among Youth.

African Peace and Security Union (APSU) works towards the inclusion and role of women as equal payers at all levels in Conflict prevention, management and resolution as well as in post Conflict reconstruction and development (PCRD).

APSU works towards the protection of women rights during and after Conflict, women participation in Peace-Making and peace Building and women specific needs for recovery and relief (Inclusion in areas of repatriation, resettlement, rehabilitation, Reintegration and post Conflict reconstruction).

African Peace and Security Union also works in enhancing the meaningful participation of women Security Sector , reporting on the implementation on National Action Plans (NAPs) on UNSCR 1325, Contextualization and Localization of Women Peace and Security Agenda, Ending Impunity for Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) and working in research, data collection and monitoring and evaluation strategies for Women Peace and Security Agenda.
